Links
If you run a website or know of a website that you feel should be included in this list please contact me. Please note I won’t include large medical supply websites without being given a good reason and won’t respond to automated link exchange requests.
Wheelchair Supply Sites
Websites where you can purchase wheelchairs and other prooducts online that are highly discounted compared to the price you pay when you pay directly from the manufacturer
Sportaid – Highly recommended. I have had good experience with these people. They have a wide range of products and prompt delivery. Don’t ask them for any advice about products or measuring as they will not be able to help you in that regard.
Supplies Central – Primarily a casting supply website.
Genuine Disability Sites
Websites that are NOT Devotee/Pretender/Wannabe/Transabled related. These sites are generally written by or intended for people with genuine physical disabilities.
Wildkat Magazine – This is a great website with resources, advice and videos for people with disabilities. It’s main focus is encouraging people with disabilities to lead an active, full life rather than waiting around for a cure.
A Celebration of Wheels – A website with a lot of general reading on various wheelchair users etc. Not very good quality from a design perspective but plenty of reading if you know where to look.
USA Tech Guide – The BEST site to find reviews for most wheelchair models and cushions.
Links Sites
Links sites for the community.
D-Links – No longer updated but has a few links that Devguide doesn’t have.
Devguide – The place to go for DPW links. Updated on a daily basis.
Pay Sites
Websites where you pay to view pictures/videos of disabled people. Typically of Females.
Amanda – Amanda is a wheelchair user who sells quality pictures of herself in a wheelchair wearing sexy/ girly cloths like pantyhose, short skirts and high heels. It’s a good, trustworthy site to visit.
Story/Resource/Personal Sites
Websites that individuals or communities maintain.
Cast Central – A good website to visit for cast related stuff. Has a lot of pay to view links.
Paragirl’s Place – ParaCathy’s new home on the web! Cathy is responsible for the original home of the Wheelchair Fetish and everyone I’ve come across has been affected by her websites. She mostly posts her stories here but also blogs occasionally about her life.
Mya Daene DPW Fiction – Mya is the author who wrote the “Coming Out” story which has been posted here at The Wheelchair Zone. She has made her own website where most of her stories will be posted other than the few she has decided to send me.
Vicki hooks – A website maintained by a person who is into leg braces, prosthetic hooks, cross-dressing and GID. This website started with good intentions but hasn’t been updated for almost a year. The author seems absent.
The Orthotorium – A picture site of men in leg braces and other orthopaedic gear. Owned by Wigglewort, a regular on the forums.
Ahiru’s Blog – A place where I blog about every day stuff and mindless dribble that doesn’t belong on TA.org Some stuff is transabled related but not directly.
Transabled Sites
Websites relating to Body Integrity Identity Disorder (BIID).
Transabled.org – an outlet for those of us who are transabled. A few people blog here on a regular basis.
BIID-Info.org – The most comprehensive source of information about Body Integrity Identity Disorder.
Make Me Deaf – The blog of a woman in her mid 20s that wishes to be moderately/severely Deaf.
Demyelinate – The journal of a twentysomething transabled MS-wannabe girl.
